CM028 Cosmetic Aluminium Repair

A two day course in Cosmetic Aluminium Repair for collision repair technicians, covering methods and equipment for cosmetic repair of aluminium panels, using tools such as induction heater, aluminium spotter and MIG welder.

 

COURSE OVERVIEW

Target group:
Collision Damage repair technicians who want to know about working with aluminium repair and develop their welding skills to achieve the best welding results.

Previous Experience:
No previous experience required.

Objectives:
After the completed course the participant should be able to:

  • understand and use methods and equipment for cosmetic repairs on aluminium panels on vehicles in any situation
  • use MIG/MAG welders for aluminium body panels
  • analyse work performed in order to guarantee its quality

Theory – MIG welding aluminium:

  • Basic training- MIG welding
  • Product knowledge
  • Protective atmosphere/welding advice
  • Weld analysis
  • Corrosion protection

Practical exercise – MIG welding aluminium:

  • Manuals/handling
  • Weld performance
